Doing Amazing Things: The Adaptive Training Foundation

“If you treat people broken, they act broken.”

But what happens if you treat others like whole, powerful individuals, regardless of physical, mental, or emotional obstacles?

Answer: Powerful transformation.

This inspirational line of thinking is at the core of a revolutionary program and place, the Adaptive Training Foundation.

The concept began when David Vobora, a 5-year veteran of the NFL met US Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills, a quadruple amputee. David opened up his personal gym to Travis, offering his training expertise. The pair started working out together, customizing and adapting to the unique challenges posed by Travis’ injuries. Through working with Travis and engaging the veteran community, David developed a passion for helping those with life-altering injuries find life-fulfilling adaptive performance training. From that relationship, the ATF was born.

The ATF mission is to improve the physical, mental and emotional health of all of their athletes. They serve veterans disabled during their service to our country by supporting their transformation into athletes adapting to a new reality and arming them with tools to continue adapting to life’s challenges.

“A sense of freedom, especially as a Veteran, is key to mental wellness.” - US ARMY Specialist Retired Derrick Ross

The program is in its 14th class. Each class is a nine-week course that is equally focused on physical, mental, and emotional development featuring strength training, breathwork, meditation, and group discussion to explore the challenges of the athletes’ day-to-day lives.

Inspired by the powerful work of this organization and the athletes who rise to challenge themselves, Charlotte’s Web is creating a dedicated meditation and mindfulness center at the ATF’s Dallas facility while also contributing our CBD hemp extract to all athletes in each class.
