More than CBD: What does Full-Spectrum mean?

CBD (cannabidiol) is gaining popularity as a hot term in the health and wellness world —and will continue to do so as more people come to understand how beneficial* it can be to the human body. But CBD isn’t the only phytocompound we’re excited about in our Charlotte’s Web hemp extract. That’s because our extract is more than just CBD. Among the beneficial* compounds that come from plants, we're currently aware of over 100 of them.
Cannabidiol (CBD)? Yep. Cannabinol (CBN)? Yes. Cannabigerol (CBG)? That’s in there too. Cannabichromene (CBC)? Sure thing. Those phytocannabinoids, plus 100 more, fit into the body’s receptor network, the Endocannabinoid System, to help keep the body in good health*.
Let’s not forget about terpenes and flavonoids too. While not cannabinoids from hemp, they are compounds found in hemp and other plants. Terpenes are fragrant oils that bind to receptors in the human body and carry a variety of health benefits.* Flavonoids are a group of phytonutrients that serve as cell messengers with their own health-promoting benefits,
So not only do our products include a variety of phytocompounds, each with their own health benefits*, but all of these compounds work together, building on their individual strengths to further heighten the body's positive response to CBD. Scientists named this process the “entourage effect,” which means that our full-spectrum hemp extract provides more complete health benefits than taking CBD on its own.
That’s why we believe so strongly in a full-spectrum hemp extract: we want to deliver the best that our plants have to offer for you and your good health.
